Welcome to Yarra Plenty Waves Swim Club

A Life-Long Love Of Swimming

At Yarra Plenty Waves, our purpose is to develop and inspire a life long love of swimming.

We offer inclusive and progressive pathways for swimmers of all ages and abilities. From the first step beyond swim school through to high level training and competition, we support swimmers at every stage.

Our club is built on respect, support, courage, and resilience. We believe swimming should be enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding, with a healthy balance of fun and hard work.

If you are new to squads or competitive swimming, you are in the right place. We are here to guide swimmers and families every step of the way.

Swimming Pathways That Grow With Your Swimmer

Every swimmer’s journey is different. Our pathways are flexible and designed to support steady progress at the right pace for each swimmer.

We focus on:

  • progress without pressure

  • building confidence and resilience

  • creating a supportive team environment

  • helping swimmers feel proud to belong

The Yarra River, from which our club is named, is known as Birrarung, meaning River of Mists in the language of Woiwurrung spoken by the Wurundjeri.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the traditional custodians of this land. We respect their unique ability to care for the country and their deep spiritual connection to it. We honour Elders Past and present, who have resided in the area and who are an integral part of the region's history.
