ABOUT COACHING AT YPW

What coaching at YPW looks like

Yarra Plenty Waves is a competitive swimming club based in Greensborough, with a 40-year history of helping local swimmers develop from their early swimming years through to competitive and national-level racing.

We also operate Yarra Swim School, our own learn-to-swim program. This gives swimmers a pathway from their first lessons into competitive swimming.

Our programs include:

  • developing junior swimmers

  • competitive squads

  • teen fitness

  • masters swimming

Our coaching philosophy is simple:

Develop the person. Develop the athlete. Performance will follow.

You'll work alongside experienced coaches, build your skills on deck and have opportunities to take on more responsibility as you develop.

COACH ACROSS DIFFERENT PROGRAMS

BE PART OF A CLUB THAT'S ACHIEVING

In 2025/26, YPW swimmers achieved 120 club records, with 16 swimmers qualifying for the Australian Age Championships, including two bronze medals. The club also finished fourth overall at the Victorian Metro Championships.
